Develop and support enabling environment, strengthen capacity for microfinance sector in Kyrgyzstan

GOAL

MFI Association will lead and promote the development of the non banking sector of the Kyrgyz Republic by:

• providing opportunities for networking
• a strong representative voice in public and private sector
• educational opportunities for non bank financial insititutions (NBFIs) in order for them to reach growth and prosperity
• encouraging transparency at all levels in order to develop trust between the NBFIs and their clients.

VISION

MFI Association will be a sustainable association, recognized by its' members, government authorities and financial partners as the most effective association for non-bank financial institutions in the Kyrgyz Republic.

The hallmark values of MFI Association and its' members are:

• transparency
• excellence in product and service delivery
• equality for all members and their clients
• professionalism at every level.

OBJECTIVES OF THE ASSOCIATION

• to participate in the improvement of current legislation on microfinance and other issues affecting interests of microfinance organizations;
• to represent interests of the Association members in relations with state and other organizations, stimulate their interest in development of microfinance in the Kyrgyz Republic;
• experience exchange, arrange training and retraining courses for the staff, facilitate formation and development of the necessary professional skills among the staff members;
• to facilitate enhancement of theoretical and practical aspects of microfinance in the Kyrgyz Republic;
• to explore the best international practices in microfinance, reach agreements with domestic and international organizations on the development of microfinance activity and promote establishment of international links for microfinance and other organizations of the Kyrgyz Republic;
• to render methodological, informational and other support to the Members;
• to hold conferences, seminars etc. either independently or in cooperation with the state and public organizations, to participate in relevant international events.

MEMBERSHIP

Membership shall be divided into:

• full
• associated

Full members can be microfinance organizations and credit unions operating in the field of microfinance on the territory of the Kyrgyz Republic, with impeccable business reputation, recognizing the Association Charter. Full Association members can participate in managing Association by taking part in annual and extraordinary General Meeting of Members with voting right on the discussed issues; can elect and nominate candidates for election in the Association government body and to initiate convention of the members' extraordinary meeting.

Associated members can be legal entities, with impeccable business reputation, interested in development and promotion of microfinance on the territory of the Kyrgyz Republic and recognizing Association Charter.  Associated members may exercise all rights of the full members of the Association except the right to vote at the general meetings of the members, right to elect and be elected in the Association governing bodies as well as right to convene General meetings of the Association's members.
